Dance with Rusty Metoyer and the Zydeco Krush at the TK Club this Friday

Posted on July 6, 2015July 6, 2015 by Julie Miller

When Rusty Metoyer made his TK Club debut two years ago, he had just released his first record Take My Hand. He and his Zydeco Krush band will bring their contemporary zydeco music to the Conshohocken venue again this Friday, July 10th.

The Lake Charles, LA natives put a spin on traditional zydeco that reflects the musical era they grew up in. You’ll hear early-2000s pop / R&B vocal harmonies on “She Fell in Love with My Two Step” and an emphasis on Santana-esque electric guitar interludes throughout the record, while nostalgic simplicity comes through in the lyrics of “Porch Light.” They excel at blending the traditions of their musical roots with an updated approach.

More information for Friday’s event can be found on the Facebook event page here or on Allons Danser’s website here. Listen to Take My Hand on Spotify here and watch the band perform in the Netherlands below.
