Listen to Buckwheat Zydeco on American Routes

Posted on February 26, 2015February 27, 2015 by Julie Miller

Buckwheat Zydeco is the subject of this segment from American Routes. The Louisiana native talks with Nick Spitzer about his start in Clifton Chenier’s band and where he’s taken the music since those early days. In an effort to bridge generational divides between zydeco fans, Buckwheat has covered popular artists like Jimi Hendrix and incorporated reggae grooves into his own songs. Listen to the episode below and check out other American Routes segments here.
